AREAS OF ENGAGEMENT
The NGO "Action dans le Monde" offers you seven areas in which you can get involved. This page is a general presentation of each of them.
The person making a stay dans l'animation will be led to work with more or less young people, whether they are young people children as well as old people. Its role lies at the crossroads of social, animation and education. The profiles of people who have already worked in environments such as retirement homes, extracurricular or extracurricular activity centers and other social establishments are strongly requested. However, we also accept "beginner" profiles. The animator must be the guarantor of the moral, physical and emotional security of people and be responsible for the group of children or adults, as leader of animation projects or pedagogical approaches meeting the objectives of the pedagogical project. Among the various animation projects, he will be able to organize and animate fun, artistic or simple manual activities, adapted and to different audiences, demonstrate human qualities such as: humility, listening, benevolence, patience .
Your role will be to coordinate the logistical, administrative and human resources aspects of the mission. You will have to use spirit and a good physical condition but also an analytical mind, a knowledge of the stakes and the geopolitical context in order to leave nothing aside and to promote the success of the project.
Eco-volunteering is a solidarity and participative action which consists in helping a project linked to the preservation and enhancement of animal, plant, environmental and cultural diversity. Eco-volunteering consists of carrying out voluntary actions in favor of the environment in general and, more particularly, of fauna and flora. During your mission, you will take part in concrete actions on the ground in the company of biologists, scientists, rangers and other players from reserves, parks, refuges and other environmental protection organizations. Eco-volunteering is also an exchange that places volunteers at the heart of the host structures and, therefore, puts them in direct contact with the local population.

The teaching profession has long been described as "the most beautiful profession in the world". In fact, teaching still nurtures many vocations among young people. Your mission will be adapted to your profile, according to your experience and study path. In addition, you will be required to work either in kindergarten-primary, or in college-high school or even with adults. Among kindergarten students, you will carry out early learning activities, learning about group life, awareness of reading and arithmetic. You will play an essential role in the emotional and intellectual development of the students. And it is mainly through fun activities, drawings, music, etc... that you will reinforcelanguage learning, socialization, cultural and bodily development of children. In primary, you must be very versatile. In college-high school, you will teach a single subject (mathematics or English, for example). You will have to work with an adolescent audience from 11 to 18 years old. In general, you will have to develop pedagogical and human skills such as listening, patience and authority to know how to transmit knowledge.
The particularity of your mission is that it is part of a logic of development aid to the country or countries where you will be called upon to intervene: build a school, launch a micro-finance program, install irrigation canals , providing legal aid to migrants, etc. Therefore, emergency situations (although important ) will not represent the primary interest of your work. These long-term projects require the skills of professionals in health, economics, logistics, agronomy, law, and more. In addition, the organization with which you will work needs support functions, such as project management, communication and marketing, management and training. of your professional skills, you will have to demonstrate the quality specific to this type of mission. ​The social worker is a person who, through previous involvement in an association, as part of his studies or his professional career, engages with people in need. The expectations of the populations vary: people with disabilities, abandoned children: single mothers,in reception centers and other social establishments. You will be able to analyze the situations and needs of the people you meet, define a social support project with them (and their families, if necessary, etc.), connect these people with our local partner who will follow them over the long term. term, take stock of the actions and communicate them to the hierarchy of the local association. The volunteer who will commit will also have a role of "educator" in the sense that he will help people to find their place in society and to become more autonomous. For this, he will be present to discuss, advise and organize various activities: outings, workshops, tutoring,... Humanitarian projects in the field of health are primarily aimed at active or retired medical and paramedical professionals (doctors, physiotherapists, nurses, midwives / midwives, etc.), young graduates and students in the medical or paramedical field. The role and tasks assigned to them are highly dependent on their qualifications. The project can range from a simple observation internship to a qualified health volunteer mission. Participants are usually placed in health facilities (hospitals, clinics, dispensaries, etc.) and support local medical staff in their daily work.
A humanitarian mission in an orphanage is rewarding and represents a challenge while traveling abroad. Many children who have been abandoned by their families for financial, social or personal reasons live in foster homes. With the main concerns being the welfare and protection of children, volunteers are hand-picked and must be highly qualified to work with them. You will assist the main carers in their work and you will be able to ensure a better future for the children you will take care of.

We call an orphanage a residential institution that welcomes children who do not have regular contact with their families or loved ones, and which is not intended to provide specialized treatment or care in the short term. Some children are in fact orphans, while others still have one or more parents, but the latter cannot meet their needs and are forced to entrust them to these institutions. Orphanages were quite common in several of our countries of action, however, in recent years, we have observed a growing movement of reintegration of these children with their families, relatives or in foster families. This movement is called deinstitutionalization.
